Piano Mom Practice – Keyboard Harmony

Piano Moms can get their kids to the point of actually enjoying playing, after making them stick to the rudiments until they know enough to start making it effortless.

  1. Notes
    1. treble
    2. bass
    3. elementary pieces with quasi-faking left hand
  2. Theory
    1. Triads, major, minor, seventh, diminished
    2. Figured bass
  3. Keyboard Harmony

This lesson is based on A Lover’s Concerto by the Toys, after the famous Minuette in G Major from the Notebook of Anna Magdalena Bach.

The sheet music does not modulate through approx. 4 half-notes as does the video, an audio file below has rectified the song to match what can be played on piano all in the key of C.

Here the music has been altered to fit the lesson.

How gentle is the rain, that falls softly on the meadow;
Birds high upon the trees serenade the flow’rs with their melodies.
Oh, see there beyond the hill, the bright colors of the rainbow;
Some magic from above made this day for us, just to fall in love.
How gentle is the rain, that falls gently on the meadow;
Birds high upon the trees serenade the flow’rs with their melodies.
Oh, see there beyond the hill, the bright colors of the rainbow;
Some magic from above made this day for us, just to fall in love.
You’ll hold me in your arms, and say once again you love me;
And if your love is true, ev’rything will be just as wonderful.
